Going through the lowest points of grief at different points has allowed me to see who my true friends are.
I’ve worked hard to pick myself up in times I’ve fallen down too hard.
It doesn’t make the pain of loss go away. But dealing with it has been more effective each time I’ve faced it.

Having lost people close to me over the last 10 years, two great friends and my mother-in-law, has added a few layers of thick skin without leading me to become an asshole.
