you can either startup the gradio app (python transplant-app.py) or just use the cli app (format_transplant.py).

the demo i linked is a huggingface space, so your data is technically routed to a US based service provider. but you can in a few minutes set this up on your own provider, or just run it locally in your terminal shell. you only need python and a few libraries. see github.com/CrispStrobe/... :

& the style inheritance chain (<w:basedOn> links) is resolved upfront so the effective font and spacing of every style is known before any mapping decision is made.

But, as i said, it's an early prototype & prone to many things probably overlooked. So please tell me about them!

the model reads a sample of the blueprint and writes a short style guide capturing editorial convention. It then attempts to apply those conventions, paragraph by paragraph, to the transplanted document. (That functionality is "bring you own key". Of course, you can e.g. use free openrouter models.)

It produces a new document that has the text and structure of the source but the look and feel of the blueprint:
page size, margins, headers, footers, paragraph styles, fonts, line spacing, indentation — all taken from the blueprint.
