A man asked me last night what publishing needs to do for literary fiction to begin appealing to men again. I said, as nicely as I could, that, with over 2,000 books published every Tuesday, of which many would appeal to men, it’s not a publishing problem, it’s a men problem.

Amazing turnout for the Arts, Culture & Heritage Rally in Halifax today! The NS Choral Federation wrote a new rendition of "Farewell to Nova Scotia" for the crowd to sing along with

It was so heartening to join the protest at Province House and see how big and diverse the crowd was. I hate that we have to do it, but I loved to see how many people care about our province.

Upset the arts people and the theatre kids you're going to get good signs, but also spoken word poetry, angry songs, and probably interpretive dance.

She says lots of people spoke to them about how they don’t want to see services, especially transit services reduced, and if anything they’re willing to pay more to see those services improved

He says so far they’re failing. β€œWe’re going in the wrong direction we’re hurting and killing and maiming more people on our roads than we should be”

Halifax’s micro-mobility pilot scooting into 2026 with a focus on better parking Spring is just around the cornerΒ and with it comes the return of e-bikes and e-scooters, the fruits of HRM’sΒ zippy micro-mobility pilot.

New: @hfxgov.bsky.social's zippy micro-mobility pilot will be back on the road in about a month, with hundreds of e-scooters and e-bikes navigating HRM.

122,557 trips were taken in 2025.

My latest for @thechronicleherald.bsky.social.

You want embarrassing? The story of the current N.S. Art’s cuts as they relate to a major internationally growing cash cow is being featured in the newspaper whose primary audience is CEOs, executive VPs and decision makers.

This is embarrassing on a scale the the proponents did not predict.

Hendsbee doesn’t like it because some parts of his district have shitty internet.

WOAH, he just officially announced that he’s never running in an election again!!!

(then backed it up a little with β€œnever say never.”)

So we have confirmed that Mayor Andy Fillmore was not paying attention to the better part of the public participation process this morning.

I hope those were some sick Facebook reels, my guy.
What a fucking embarassment.

He says there are folks that still need this, and all the burden is being shifted onto the libraries, especially those in the regional centre.

Instead of cutting the drop in centre funding he’d rather repurpose that money to still help those people.

He calls it β€œ inherently wrong”

56% of residents want HRM to increase food supports (from the 2024 residents survey)

Just Food is part of that

Just Food Halifax were able to find a new home for Common Roots when Metroworks went bankrupt.
