The remark, "Don't attribute to malice what could be explained by ignorance," (or however it goes) is a bit flawed.
Results don't care about intention. Whether harm is done through hate or through ignorance, the harm is the same.
The fix may be different, but the harm still needs to be stopped.

Long story short, I need a gender neutral honorific to use for the teachers. Help.
I like to think that he doesn't like people and he screams when he sees them because he's scared.
