The inclination to think big with central govt funding (infrastructure, innovation) may mean we can deal with waste better but it also comes with disconnection, centralisation and a loss of understanding of our ecosystems. We gotta get our hands into the soil more

Sure. I think you're conflating what are external pressures outside our control and the emotional and mental impact of those though. The latter is where we aren't doing enough as a party. We haven't been for a long time, and I hope this is a wake up call. Or at least the one that gets heeded
