Bad headline: "US Raises $Billions in tariffs"

Good headline: "Consumers forced to pay $Billions in new Trump sales tax"

FFRF in D.C. as they try to fund religious schools with our taxes: β€œIf the Supreme Court approves this scheme, it will go viral across the land, ultimately defunding our public schools β€” the bedrock of our democracy β€” a blow that our public schools and our secular democracy may never recover from.”

Yes. Like any group, you find a mix of topics and tolerance. I like knowing what's going on.

Who cares which one wears the fancy dress and says nothing that actually helps anyone? Grow up.

Social Security sent an announcement through Nextdoor. That was odd. It said to keep up with SS on Musk's X. That was odd, too. It said we will now access our SS cards electronically instead of having physical cards. I see that as a prelude to their ability to cancel us spontaneously. Not good.

If the point of society isn't to care for each other and make things better for people and the planet…

Then what's the point?!

Whistleblower showed proof that DOGE opens up our sensitive data, steals it, and lets accounts in Russia inside the system.

Full blown threat, people!

Red flags, sirens, alarms!!! This is traitorous.

It will affect you. Work together to stop this stripping of our country!

Start talking about it!

If we get through this madman, we will rebuild so much better! You just watch!

We will be so motivated and clever. America can rebuild like Europe and Japan. 2.0, baby!

Let's get through this madman so we can start.

Next to be rounded up: β€œnonproductive” people. That means retired and disabled.

(Just like Hitler did.) It never ends, btw. He needs a constant stream of new out-groups to hate to keep his hold on his cult.

Buckle up, Buttercup.

I think so, too. We had to give them enough rope to hang themselves.

Can you please make the content fill the width of our screens? The white margin on the left where you put our avatars makes all posts smaller. Honestly, Facebook posts are more inviting only because they are not as squished small as on Bluesky.

Tariffs? Out of control. Prices? Skyrocketing.
Emergency powers? He’s abusing them.
And yet… not a single question about whether he’s even fit to serve.

The math ain’t mathing.

If we vote in a capable Congress, they can impeach and remove those disgusting Supreme Court Justices.

There's another reason to vote next year.

Haha. I did not see where that was going. πŸ˜„ I taught my math students that there is no such thing as random. Then along came quarks. I'm still not convinced.

I say "re-elect" in a metaphorical and possibly literal sense. We shall see which.

In a year, you'll have taken higher prices on the chin when Tr announces, "No more income tax!" People will cheer and re-elect him.

Few will see the sleight of hand he did pretending tariffs were a necessary international chest-pounding war when it really just moved taxes from the rich to the poor.

09.04.2025 17:17 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

β€œHe has one aim and one aim alone, to divert US taxpayer dollars to the treasury without mention of the word β€˜TAX’. It’s simply state-sponsored theft.” (from Truth Matters)

His end goal is to raise money from sales tax tariffs so he can eliminate income taxes, burdening the middle and poor classes.

09.04.2025 16:02 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Step one: Start getting revenue from tariffs.

Step two: Eliminate income tax.

That's what he said is the goal. It shifts burden to poorer people, away from the rich. Why are media ignoring this?

09.04.2025 06:37 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Missouri!

09.04.2025 06:27 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The endgame is to collect enough from tariffs to stop income taxation. (Benefits the rich.)

The purpose of massive tariffs on purchases is to replace income tax, like we did before we had income tax.

This shifts the burden to middle and lower classes, letting the wealthy earn money off of having money with no taxes on that income.

He has said so clearly. It's the reason he loves tariffs.

No tariffs on Russia = Trump trying to get us to help Russia (again). But, you knew that.
