There was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for 12 years & had endured much. She had heard about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, for she said, β€œIf I but touch his clothes, I will be made well.” Immediately her hemorrhage stopped

She Said by the Well Poem about the Samaritan Woman in John 4

She has nothing to lose.
He knows all about it,
but offers her eternal life.
…
So much about Jesus is revealed
in this 'he said, she said' by the well,

but we do not even learn her name.

US troops were told war on Iran was β€˜all part of God’s divine plan’, watchdog alleges Religious freedom group says 200 troops sent complaints of superiors using extremist Christian rhetoric to justify war

No to war and christo-nationalism.
Jesus taught non-violence and love of our neighbor.

Pray for all who have died, are injured, in harms way, and afraid. Pray for peace. Lord, have mercy. πŸ™πŸΌ

Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of Peace, as children of one Father; now and for ever. That we may shape our common life as your

Loving God, in our faith, we pray:
For reconciliation between the violated and
the violent,
That we may rest in your peace.
For generosity between rich and poor people
everywhere,
That we may share the abundance of your
creation. (1/3)

Waiting Room Poem inspired by John 9, written in a hospital

Memories and outcomes blur
in my psyche and prayers;

the same spaces and hospitals,
hoping for different results.

The Pearl I know the ways of pleasure; the sweet strains The lullings and the relishes of it; The propositions of hot blood and brains; What mirth and music mean;…

I know the ways of learning…
I know the ways of honour…
I know the ways of pleasure…
Yet I love thee.

I know all these and have them in my hand;
Therefore not seeled but with open eyes
I fly to thee

So many gathered around that there was no longer room for them, not even in front of the door. Then some people came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. And when they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him

The period from March 10 to March 21 is the only portion of the calendar that's *always* in Lent. I feel like it ought to be recognized as a separate season-within-a-season, called something like "Deep Lent". It's also exactly twelve days, which feels significant.

Leaned me against the tree to die, and rent
By ravening beasts that compassed me, I swooned:
Hast thou no wound?

No wound? No scar?
Yet as the Master shall the servant be,
And pierced are the feet that follow Me;
But thine are whole. Can he have followed far
Who has no wound nor scar?

Poem by Amy Carmichael, saint in today's #LentMadness

Hast thou no scar?
No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand?
I hear thee sung as mighty in the land,
I hear them hail thy bright ascendant star,
Hast thou no scar?

Hast thou no wound?
Yet, I was wounded by the archers, spent. (1 of 2)

Prayers for Lent, Baskets, Blankets, and Dance Collects written February 2026

For Blankets πŸ§£β„οΈ

Our Comforter,
you send a blanket
of wool to warm,
of snow to delight,
of manna to feed us
as we need in each season;
wrap us with your presence,
reassure us in the silence,
then unwind us
with arms outstretched
to welcome those in need
of a loving embrace. Amen

when the woman saw that the tree was a delight to the eyes, and to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked

The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
