For my regional planning studio we suggest that
Albertians expertise in drilling holes could be attached to the existing Natural Gas infrastructure that 7% of is below 5’. So there could be a transition to geothermal by adding vertical loops to the horizontal network.

We are seeing an insufficient response to these tragedies from our municipal officials. At the bare minimum, I would have expected to see statements and indications of immediate action and direction from any member of council who ran on a traffic safety platform. #yyccc

Whoa @calgary.ca. Eight days ago, a driver struck and killed a toddler in a stroller in a marked crosswalk. The next day, the driver of a tractor trailer hit and killed a senior in a marked crosswalk. Those deaths come after a record 15 pedestrians were killed in 2025.
And this is your message?! 😡😢

When people are being killed in marked crosswalks, and especially when one of them was a toddler being pushed in a stroller by their parents, the continued implication that the solution is a shared responsibility of “awareness” is pretty ridiculous.

Attended the Violet King park naming celebration today where a speaker mentioned that the community put out a petition to try to stop the Kings from moving here.
Makes me wonder who we are missing out gaining in our community’s every time there is a call for letters against certain housing types?

The 56th pedestrian incident in 2026 happened on Feb 16 at 11:31.
It took place at Panatella Hl and Panatella Boulevard NW in Panorama Hills.

This was the 4th incident in ward 3 this year.

The driver never saw the couple with their child in the stroller… because the modification the driver made prevented them from seeing anybody.

The driver of an SUV struck a toddler while turning into the intersection. Two adults were pushing the toddler in a stroller through a marked crossing. Neither was injured. The child died.

The front end on that vehicle is designed to kill people - and the cops ignore the modifications.

A toddler is dead in Calgary because we allow these jacked up SUVs with very minimal forward visibility. The drivers of these can’t see people in the crosswalk.

When will these be banned?
