It looks beautiful but it would be safer if it didn’t block visibility of pedestrians crossing the street. I bet if it was only the shorter plants the city would leave it be. In my jurisdiction the visibility triangle is 7m back from the intersection.

Free transit for children 15 and under also seems like an effective way to get a new generation hooked on public transit and offering a more equitable foundation for our youth.

Calgary Transit could start by including transit fare with any event/admission to the Stampede Grounds, McMahon Stadium, Max Bell, The Zoo and the Telus Convention Centre.

City of Calgary could make a massive advancement in bicycle infrastructure year round…without building a single bike lane.

How?
By lowering the speed limit on every existing bicycle street to 30km/h, installing traffic calming for that speed, and treating them as priority 1 routes in the winter.

Started seeing these signs pop up in some fancier neighbourhoods. Thoughts: 1. Restricting how your land can be used will hurt your land value down the line. 2. You want to fight homes for more people in a housing crisis? 3. Remember what restrictive covenants were originally for (racism). #yyc

More bike lanes = less congestion.

But we have to invest in making them a safe mode of transportation for all Calgarians.
