It is very comical that the day after Trump won Justine Bateman posted this very long thread bragging about how she was finally “free” to say what she feels about certain issues she was previously “silenced” about and yet still didn’t reveal what she supposedly wasn’t allowed to say. Still hasn’t!

She still supports the current administration that embraces all of this shit though and it’s hard to tell exactly why because she’s really evasive about it but it seems most likely transphobia related.

I get that the term has a specific meaning and it’s being broadly misused as synonymous with “war” and “bad” but to me I could never push back with “technically it’s not genocide” because at the end of the day it could be accurately characterized as “close enough”

I think his outreach into right wing spaces on the issue can be effectively deradicalizing (particularly when he told that audience that parents of trans kids have personally told him that transitioning saved their kids life) more than I think what bluesky wants.

He could easily not be seen as trans skeptic anymore if he platformed a trans person on his own show and gave them a space to speak for that community.

Yeah a guy who’s not online just sees “Governor of a state where trans people are protected” whereas bluesky gassed themselves up into a genuine post truth space thinking he’s Sheriff TERF hunting down the trans kids.
