The irony is that dex’s mom is heavy herself so she’s got some self hatred there that she projects on her kids.

Cherri’s family is full of fat bears so it’s nothing new for them they have a skewed perspective about that type of thing.
Dex and Viv’s mom totally hates it and wants Dexter to lose weight and isn’t a fan of aster. She actually thinks dex’s weight is hamish’s fault/whole influence.

So Wesley’s mom doesn’t really understand it at all! But she’s pretty laid back, it wasn’t until Wesley was immobile that she was really worried about him so when he lost weight for the baby she was quite happy about that.
