Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums: #267: Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime

They put literally every idea they ever had onto this album, the good, the great, the amazing, and even the stinkers. The best is some of the best punk of the 80s.

Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums: #268: Randy Newman - Sail Away

Good 70's piano singer-songwriter stuff with a wicked dark streak that's not always evident listening to the music (Sail Away being the most obvious example). Simon Smith + the Amazing Dancing Bear could go on any of his Pixas soundtracks

Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums: #269: Kanye West - Yeezus

Kanye's last gasp and where the cracks really start to show. Half the album is phenomenal and vital and a little ridiculous (Hurry Up With My Damn Croissants). The other half, just too far gone and a sign of what was to come.

Rolling Stone Top 500 Album: #270: Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour

One of my absolute favourite albums, just so tender and beautiful and gorgeous. That pause in Space Cowboy where everything just stops will always be breathtaking.
