I don't write much tbh but I working on a lore doc for my ocs and their overarching stories so I'll share whenever I... actually finish it....

Joshua does actually break up with him for a while over this. But they reconcile after Benjamin shows he's willing to change and work on himself. And also put his loved ones and wellbeing over his career

His whole thing is like. He's a creature of fear and prefers familiar discomforts to scary change. Yes his wheels are stuck in a rut but he knows where he's going and can prepare.

Changing means not knowing and being unable to control things. He's so scared of losing what little control he has

He also has an autoimmune disorder he is NOT being proactive about. His job is high stress and pretty pgysically intensive and he's like well if I take my meds and work hard it'll be fine it's no big deal.

Some days after performances he's out of commission. Casey and his pokemon help him a LOT

Benjamin has had a very traumatic upbringing but basically refuses to address / work through it and is instead deciding he's totally fine as-is and repressing any and all emotions and thoughts about it is the correct way to handle it.

This is working about as well as one could expect.

Idk. They care for each other A LOT but neither of them know how to tell the other properly so they just do things for each other in a silent mutual understanding

So they're in this awkward "helping how they can" dance. Both of these guys suckkk at communicating

But now Casey has this pseudo guardian figure that's really doing so bad but they don't know how to help mainly because Ben doesn't WANT help. And that's their boss they really aren't equipped to deal with Benjamin's whole deal.

But Casey's role kinda evolved into general personal assistant and they do random things for Ben. Most of the time they do fuck all and get paid for it but Ben doesn't mind because it gets Silas off his ass.

And also... maybe he likes taking care of Casey. And building them up for success. Maybe.

Ben only hired Casey because Silas was pissed he had no social media presence and Benjamin is like social media illiterate.

Casey totally lied in the interview but Benjamin was like fuckkkk this kid is just like me when I was on my own at 16 I can't let them suffer like I did

Casey looks up to Benjamin like a lot. This guy did so much for them how could they not? I think this makes things so complicated when they don't know how to help him. They're his personal assistant, that's kind of their job... right?
