Weekly #Prompt - LUCID GAZE SHINE DAYBREAK GONE DARK
post with hashtag: #inkMine
We shall not sip from the same glass,
No water for us, or sweet wine;
Weโll not embrace at morning,
Not gaze from the same sill at night;
You breathe the sun, I the moon,
Yet the one love keeps us alive.

Here's something I wrote a while back that might be useful to beginners as well :-)
18.01.2025 23:06 โ ๐ 15 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0So if haiku isn't about syllables, what is it about? A good starting point is that it is a juxtaposition of two fragments. For example:
waiting
for the butter to softenโ
summer rain

First, forget about syllables. I won't stop anyone from writing 5-7-5 haiku, but most English language poets don't. Why? Iโll just link to this.

A friend of mine mentioned some people have been asking about the free form haiku they've been seeing on Bluesky, so I'm creating a step by step guide to writing a haiku. Feel free to respond to the last thread (#8) with your ku if you want feedback or to share!

24.01.2025 18:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Memory In the palm of dawn, they bloom. The roses you've planted in all of your gardens, in all of the souls you've touched. Nothing in this life, ever, goes unnoticed. Not even the tiniest bud. Not even a fallen leaf. Somewhereโon the edge of the worldโ a lily-of-the-valley raises her head, reaching her snow-white lips to kiss the sky, her lover. And he who created both sighs like the only one that knows the heart of a flower born to bloom for a day and then be plucked by a careless hand. โ Ellen Krupich

Silence Hug me tight, like your favorite tree in the nearby parkโ the one that knows all your secrets. Don't mind the scars on my skin: my roots have been left unscathed. There is life, there is warmth in this beating heart. Perhaps I could tell you more... But the night is fragile and oh so still. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Listen to meโI am silence, I am a quiet grave with an unbridled caress of flowers growing from the dirt. โ Ellen Krupich
