I’m continuing to be disappointed with the vibe of the apocalypse.

Elon Musk: With Optimus, we might be able to stop putting people in prison.

β€œIf somebody's committed a crime, we might be able to provide a more humane form of containment of future crime. You now get a free Optimus, and it's just going to follow you around and stop you from doing crime. Other than that, you get to do anything; it's just going to stop you from committing crime. That's really it. You don't have to put people in prisons and stuff. It's pretty wild to think of all the possibilities, but I think it's clearly the future.”

Reminds me of Dan Olsen/Folding Ideas β€œRude to Suck At Warcraft” vid.

Rude to be bad at Silksong.

Especially a bummer for a game as lovingly crafted as Silksong. Some of my favorite boss fights of all time have been in this game.

Also some of the absolute worst, dogshit, β€œrandom bullshit go” and β€œnothing personal, kid” bosses I’ve ever fought.

I play games to not think about this dumpster fire of a world. To overcome challenging but interesting obstacles.

Silksong isn’t that. It’s been a slog.

On another hand, it does suck to watch a style of game that I’ve loved for a while now enter into an arms race with itself - we must cater to the lore nerds and the speed runners and the challenge runners and people who are just kinda mid at games but still love them get left behind.

I had this experience with the Elden Ring DLC too. These kinds of games are outpacing my basic skill level and willingness to put up with bullshit. They’re not being made for casual, mid-skill gamers. And on one hand, that’s fine - not every game is made for everyone.

I think I have probably 2 bosses left in Silksong. An incredible game made with such care and devotion that has ended up simply exhausting me because nobody took Team Cherry’s face gently and said β€œhard /=/ good, scale it all back 10% and don’t waste the player’s time, it’ll still be a good game”

11.11.2025 21:10 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have to hand it to them, it's an incredible bit to publicly lose a game of chicken, admit that's what happened, and then spend the next day lecturing everyone about courage and tenacity

There was a post on the federal workers subreddit a week or so ago - right after election night - from a federal worker who hadn’t been paid in a month and had no savings left anymore.

They said something to the effect of β€œand I’m happy to take it to stick it to these motherfuckers”

Alas.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. They’re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you don’t agree with that, you don’t understand Politics,

The only Dem senators voting to cave on the shutdown fight are either retiring or not up for reelection this cycle.

Might be Dems' most beautifully synchronized cave yet

even when the democratic party has leverage and one of the craziest election swings the party intentionally self immolates it’s just so exhausting what is even the point of these people

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.

Even the senators who are retiring and think they won't have to face the wrath of furious Democratic voters should know that their last name is about to become so toxic that not even a goddamn nonprofit is going to want you on the board.

For some reason the media is not mentioning that the reason GTA6 is being delayed is they fired 40 staff over threats of unionization and now the rest of their staff are revolting

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

I am once again saying that we saw what wall to wall, panic coverage of a crisis looked like after the Biden debate and there’s no reason Trump isn’t getting that kind of coverage except for class solidarity.
