Happy New Years! One thing I always loved about Gintoki as a protagonist is that he already went through his typical shounen manga hero journey and ultimately failed, but he continues to live on anyways and find new beginnings despite all that.

Kondo is trying to ask "what did you think i was going to say" but Hijikata turns away and says he has to go. This is very awkward for everyone.
