Calling South Asian Artists!
Are you an Indian, Bangladeshi, or Pakistani visual artist? Do you want to collaborate on a really cool arts research project, and find out what your art does to people?! Your artworks will be the centrepiece of my study!
Hi, I am Srestha, a PhD student from India at Universität Wien's Faculty of Psychology, studying the societal impact of the arts! As part of our lab, I am researching how art can positively change people's attitudes towards international immigration, and combat prejudice and discrimination.
Who am I looking for?
• You are an Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, or South Asian visual artist.
• You have lived experiences of forced migration or displacement.
• You are willing to collaborate and co-create as an artist in this research project.
How will we collaborate?
• Once ready, your precious art will be installed and exhibited in a person's home or apartment, and later, an art gallery!
• I will then collect data on people's experiences with your art!
Note: As I am a self-funded PhD student, I sadly cannot offer you monetary compensation right now. However, my endless gratitude and appreciation, as well as the promotion of your art, are a given!

Srestha had a dreadful couple of years dealing with chronic illnesses and disabilities that delayed her PhD.
