From Senator Chris McDaniel: β€œLately, some folks have taken to calling ICE β€œthe Gestapo.” It sounds fierce. It feels righteous. But it isn’t true, and it isn’t harmless.

The Gestapo was a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanished in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer meant anything. The knock on the door was the sentence.

ICE isn’t that. Not even close.

ICE is a public agency enforcing laws passed by elected officials. Its agents file reports. They seek warrants. They lose cases. Judges stop them. Lawyers challenge them. Some detainees go home. That’s not tyranny. That’s bureaucracy, for better and worse.

You can hate immigration policy. You can argue enforcement is too harsh, too sloppy, or too broad. You can work to have the law changed if you wish. That’s a republic doing what it’s supposed to do.

But when you call ordinary law enforcement β€œthe Gestapo,” you cheapen real evil. You turn history into a slogan and suffering into a metaphor. And once every badge is tyranny, no tyranny is left to recognize.

In Mississippi, I was raised to believe words should earn their weight. This one hasn't yet. It throws around the language of dictatorship while living under a system where courts still rule, lawyers still argue, and the government still loses.

That difference matters.

Because the day enforcement becomes secret, unchecked, and answerable to no one, we won’t need to borrow names from history. We’ll know exactly what we’re dealing with.

And we’ll wish we’d kept our words honest.”

On the Redo do Beach fishing pier there was a taco place that I forget the name of, but in 1999 I'd get 6 fish tacos and 2 Coronas for $12. The sunset over the Pacific was free. I miss that in the same bone deep way I missed NJ pizza when I was out there. Maybe it's still there? I have no idea

Last week, we talked about one particular incident of vehicular violence on protesters. But where does the tactic come from? Who is doing it? And why?

dear media:

no one needs to hear about the complex inner life and conflicted humanity of Trump supporters, thanks.

at this historic juncture they have precisely one relevant characteristic:
they are fascists

and for society to endure, all fascists must be crushed

The raids are focused on deep blue cities in blue states. Because undocumented workers "make up a remarkably large sector of the U.S. economy," these raids are a "de facto economic attack on blue states."

Trump and everyday anti-fascism beyond punching Nazis The goal of everyday anti-fascism is to increase the social cost of oppressive behavior to the point where those who promote it see no option but to hide.

Getting a white supremacist realtor fired for racist posts is a great example of "everday antifascism".

The Report That Musk, Zuck & Bezos DON'T Want You to See A scathing OXFAM report exposes how billionaires really "earn" their wealth.

Wow. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

This new bombshell Oxfam report is exactly what billionaires don’t want us to know:

Apparently 60% of global billionaire wealth comes not from entrepreneurship…

…but from inheritance, corruption, cronyism & monopolies.

Share the truth:
