"...climate change makes up only about 1% of media coverage...many stories about disasters linked to climate change fail to mention the link, or mention climate change at all. Making these connections clearer may encourage stronger public support for climate action."

This cannot happen fast enough.

It is awful. Especially in a time of climate crisis when we should be trying to move away from cars all together, not embracing huge gas guzzlers

Bad weather and lack of public transport among barriers keeping people from nature last summer While people cited bad weather and a lack of public transport as barriers to being in nature, only 3% of those surveyed didn’t spend any time in nature last summer.

In Ireland, too many people are cut off from natureβ€”and with it, the health benefits it brings.

Access to green space shouldn’t depend on owning a car. Nature should be for everyone.

As Honest Bob Jenrick tours the country repeating far-right conspiracy talking points about β€œtwo-tier sentencing”, here is the letter his own government sent to the Sentencing Council last year approving the very Guidelines he now claims are evidence of β€œtwo-tier Keir”.

Happy #IWD2025 πŸ’š. This year’s theme is #AccelerateAction. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158 - roughly 5 generations from now - to reach full gender parity. It couldn’t be more urgent to break down the systemic barriers that women face, & to create a future safe for all πŸ’ͺ

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.

Did you know David Gilmour once sold his Β£3 million London mansion and donated every penny to a homeless charity called Crisis? He said, "I don't need all this luxury while others are fighting for a roof."
No media catwalk, no rockstar egos-just pure generosity.
He quietly changed lives❀️

Net Zero is hiking your bills - UK industry is being MASSACRED by Labour IT is clear for all to see that Sir Keir Starmer and his Government can’t stop talking about Reform UK. Up until just a few weeks ago, the Prime Minister had not mentioned us once in the House of C…

What a load of old bollocks - Farage shouldn’t be allowed to get away with spouting this nonsense. The CBI reported just last week that the net zero sector is growing 3 times faster than the overall UK economy, & renewable energy is far cheaper than fossil fuels πŸ™„

On #WorldBookDay2025, I thought I’d share one of the things I love most about #AnneBoleyn’s Books of Hours at Hever: their smell! Their β€˜bibliosmia’ is a blend of cocoa, vanilla and spent fires that seep from the vellum as you turn their pages. If only I could bottle that scent.

I love this. Wish I could smell them! I have a copy of an old book of hymns that was my Grandmother's and it's the smell as much as anything which makes it so special. Takes me right back to my childhood and the Norman church in our village. 😊

Etymology of the day: β€˜book’ comes from an ancient root shared by β€˜beech’, a wood that people used for engraving inscriptions. β€˜Paper’ comes from β€˜papyrus’, and β€˜volume’ is from the Latin for a β€˜roll’ of parchment.

Happy World Book Day.
