Over here on the other side of the lake we had more thunder than I've heard in ages!

This obviously depends where you live, we had almost no races of note in my (deep blue) jurisdiction but to the best of my ability in the single school board race with two pretty solid candidates I did pick the one I thought was slightly better.

Hang in there. We have been done with elementary school for a year and a half now and literally no one has been sick in that entire time. I am convinced that daycare/elementary is the source of basically all germs (and lice) on the planet.

I know how blessed we are to live here. I was born and raised here back when it was affordable, but I was just incredibly lucky to fall in love with a guy who got into tech relatively early. I love my city so much, but it's absolutely unattainable for almost anyone else, including our children.

We drive over to Spokane from Seattle for the state basketball championship every year and I about fell out of my chair when I looked up a house with a for sale sign that was on our route and they were asking $600,000 for the most incredibly ordinary house in Spokane!

You know they're dying to do it 🤮

We bought our first house in 2007 and have been able to leverage the insane growth and equity that we fully assume our children will live in our basement for years post college, esp our daughter since women can't risk living in stupidly large swaths of the country now.

This is why retirees can't downsize easily. Even if they've gained that kind of equity in their current home, capital gains will hit. And leaving their family support system rarely makes sense. I have no idea how young families are supposed to survive.

I live in a blue part of a blue state with fantastic jobs and legal protections from the current administration. The trade-off is that an 1100 square-foot rambler built in 1968 down the street was just listed for $1 million and is reviewing offers in three days because they know it will go over.

No, they won't, not here on the West coast. We can and should do better to grow the game with kids and 10/noon/2 pm Tuesday games don't do that - kids here get home at 4 pm from high school. Put two games at 4 and two at 6 and let the kids see it.

We are PNW and the kids get to watch a single game a day. And yes, it's not the 80s - we can and should do better to grow the game with the next generation of players and fans who certainly aren't allowed to be watching on phones in class. No kid here gets home before 4 pm at the earliest.

I think he'd really preferred to just watch it at 6 o'clock when he gets home from football practice like every other teenager

How in the world are the kids watching? My son's best friend is a Cubs fan and that game is on smack in the middle of fourth period

I totally understand the frustration. I made in journalism and I have a ton of friends who are journalists, and it's such an insane challenge. People need and deserve the kind of reporting that takes hours and hours and hours of boots on the ground work, but that cost so much money.

Journalist have to eat. Everyone needs to pony up and pay or we are going to descend into chaos

My son is going to his first high school dance tonight and I was dreading finding an affordable suit for a kid who's growing. We lucked out when a family friend who has the same build as him hustled over with his entire fancy dress wardrobe and one of the suits fit like a glove, but I'm bookmarking

Here in Seattle a group organized incredibly quickly to pressure advertisers and tons of their largest local advertisers pulled out within days. It was a really incredible victory of quick grassroots action.

Other than swimsuits for my very petite daughter because nowhere else had junior size swim separate ahead of spring break, I haven't been to target since they dropped all of their minority makers and it's been shocking how much I don't miss it

I truly love blue sky, and I normally don't miss the other site, but I miss it incredibly hard when it comes to sports. There's just absolutely nothing like the sports community I used to follow on Twitter. All I want is to jump into a comment section on an Eagles player spitting on a Cowboys player

My new limited teenager just came downstairs and a plaid skirt and declared it the absolute Apex of fashion, and I had to remind her that we watched clueless together like four years ago, and clueless was from 30 years ago, and please do not do this to me.

My parents got a PHEV last year and they love it. They put gas in it twice in six months for longer drives but 99% of their daily driving around the area is electric. It really feels like we should've just pushed those from the very beginning in many ways

This happened to us with our elderly dog. He went to have four teeth pulled and came home with basically no teeth because they said his teeth were just falling out all around the teeth they thought needed to come out. That was a fun bill.

I was craving French dip, and for $25 I could have French dip delivered, or for $20 I could buy the ingredients for five French dip sandwiches (in the very high COLA Seattle area) and indulge my craving all week with about 15 minutes of work. I truly do not understand the private sandwich taxi
