What a great looking table. It looks like a very good game, but I am not familiar with that rule set.

All my miniatures are individually based. This is actually one of the smallest forces 😂
I find it makes it a lot easier to play different rules sets.

Great video, as usual. My experience was very similar to yours. The constant changes of the rules and the price of GW's business model were something that a less patient and poorer younger me couldn't and wouldn't afford.
The historical wargaming community is a great plus for me.

What works for me is first, a palate cleanser, like terrain building or terrain painting. Not something terribly big, something like a well or a hill.
Second, I keep a painting/ project/hobby journal. It may sound ridiculous (it sounded to me), but it has helped me a lot to complete projects.

I am building some myself now. Those sculpts are really amazing. You did a great job painting them, congratulations.

They really surpassed my expectations.

I am also building them, among other games, for Oathmark. I am completing my Late Roman army.

I had the same problem when I started with Speedpaints. White or bone colour primer will make a big difference.
They still look very nice, by the way.
