This can be an intimidating looking pattern, but the instructions are so clear, w lots of video how to’s to avoid any confusion that anyone who had done colorwork or cables can do this. It’s a very enjoyable knit. Heck out the projects on Ravelry. So many unique interpretations!

The cardigan has a warm neutral undyed wool creating a forest motif along the bottom with cables, as well as edging around the cardigan and buttton loops. Four green applique leaves are paired around each of three button closures, accented in the neutral yarn. Bracer like cables line the lower sleeves, which as also accented with applique leaves. Shown is a close up of a knitted sweater, featuring the lower half of a sleeve and the lower half of the sweater next to it. Neutral brown yarn is worked into cables and tree trunks, a brown forest against the dark olive green background of the sweater. On the sleeve, a bracer has been created in the same neutral yarn, completed with a cable that runs down the inner arm. Green appliqué leaves accent the bracer, outlined in the neutral yarn.

The goal was to design an Elven coat that was functional and warm—echoes of Legolas in the bracers. Something that, when put on, made me feel *just a little bit* like I was stepping into Middle Earth. #showmeyourknits #knitsky

Thank you so much! Yes, these are mine! ☺️ The top is Fosteriana, which releases Thursday. In the middle is Reindeer Parade, and on bottom is Forests of Arda! They’re a bit like the knitting version of paint by number!

Same! 🙌🏼 They aren’t my favorite to knit, but I wear them so much more than pullovers!

Three cowls are stacked, each slightly offset. On the top is a tulip theme—dark pink and light pink tulips with green stems against a blue sky. Underneath is green cowl with a reindeer motif. The ribbing is in gray and bright red. On the bottom is a green forest motif with brownish-gray trees. All motifs are created with cables and stranded colorwork.

Before the FOA Cowl, I didn’t knit accessories—sweaters all the way. But cowls are a great palette for motifs—& pretty cozy in brisk wind! Some insisted they needed to be sweaters, too. 🤣😅 So, I’m over here on the eve of the Fosteriana (🌷) release casting on the cardigan version. 🤪 #showmeyourknits
