We presented our own work, discussed reception and detention in Malta, and our collaboration with NGOs which form the Malta Refugee Council. Our guests had a taster Amharic lesson to expose themselves to a new language learning experience, and joined classes to meet our students and volunteers.

Under international law (SAR & SOLAS), rescue is a legal duty.
We speak for those who are no longer here. Their lives mattered, and we remember them.

In 2025, 1,900+ people were recorded dead or missing.
In 2026, up to 1,000 lives were lost in a single week during Cyclone Harry.
These aren't statistics; they are parents, siblings, and children.
