Protect our trans siblings! No cuts to Medicaid and SNAP! Your Senators need to hear from you immediately that we won’t stand for any cuts to gender affirming care, Medicaid, and SNAP! Late Wednesday night the U.S. House of Representatives passed HR 1, a spending bill that would prohibit transgender people of any age from accessing gender-affirming care through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This impacts 276,000+ transgender people currently enrolled in Medicaid. That’s 1 in 5 trans adults. The bill also contains the huge tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans while making the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP - ever. This legislation will rip healthcare and food from our families to line the pockets of the mega-rich.

This will be a great meeting to join for those interested in helping out with our regular care kit packing events! We'd love to have you, and we need many volunteers to help coordinate the packing of 2,000 kits!

We will discuss the event logistics starting at 6 pm (but come whenever!). Then, we will start a walk-through of the space to strategize how best to structure the care kit packing at 6:30-6:45pm. (2/4)
