For me it would be Buck suddenly finding the couch really uncomfortable - right couch, wrong time type - and complaining to Eddie and Eddie being like “it always has been? I don’t know how you slept on that thing for so long”.

And then once Eddie comes back, the sofa is comfy again

I think it makes sense in the “I’m comfortable and I’m not in *that house* where the trauma happened” but to me the most likely storyline from that is Chris realising that actually his dad moving to Texas has fixed nothing, especially if the relationship w dad and grandparents is rocky

I said to @maetheheller.bsky.social what if the dinosaur is metaphorical (probably not, they usually aren’t) but is representative of “tale as old as time” re: buddie and I like living in that delusional world it’s quite fun here

I was lowkey joking when I said I think the dog will be buddie (me and @notfirehose.bsky.social called it back when the dog was just theory for “something cute”) but omfg they really are going nudge nudge wink wink
