Federal Judges Are Slowly Realizing They Can Treat Trump Like Anyone Else Federal judges have been reluctant to hold the Trump administration in contempt for violating court orders. Now, they are getting impatient.

Judges starting to recognize their power to compel compliance

Since Aug, judges have issued 35 orders requiring the administration to explain why it shouldn’t be held in contempt

Twice since Feb, they followed through holding them in civil contempt

Several days after a judge imposed a limit on the number of people that could be held at the Baltimore’s ICE field office, Maryland congressional Democrats went to visit and found no immigrants detained there

Tennessee could place some foster youth into jail-like facilities under new bill There aren't enough foster homes to place children in Tennessee. Some fear that a new proposal to put foster kids with serious behavioral issues into jail-like facilities will make things worse.

Tennessee has been housing foster kids in offices just like New Mexico

Now they want to put kids in need of heightened supervision in juvenile detention centers with locked cells & barbed wire outside

Jail is their answer to not having enough foster homes

Albuquerque’s Mayor Said Arrests Were “Not the Solution” to Homelessness. Yet Jail Bookings Have Skyrocketed. Under Tim Keller’s leadership, the city has increasingly criminalized conduct associated with homelessness, causing a growing number of people on the streets to be arrested and jailed.

About half the jail population in Albuquerque is homeless. The county spends about $169 per night to jail inmates without significant medical or mental health needs. Housing individuals in the city’s year-round emergency shelter costs $44 a night.

Today feminists gathered in Albuquerque, rallied at the gates of Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, rebuilt the memorial survivors created, and demanded the DOJ stop shielding powerful abusers from accountability.
