Walked past what once was Slowe and Carver Halls. This trip down memory lane brought up a lot for me. While I am thankful for the growth since my time as a Carver Hall resident I miss the tight knit community, the youth, and the D.C. that existed during that time of my life.

Today I am wearing my D.C. pride as protest and resistance against the fascist and dictatorial ways President Donald J. Trump is deploying federal law enforcement onto the streets of the city I call home.

There are Black Gay men getting ready to be shady on the internet and act like they are above attending the Red Dress Run. There are also Black Gay men who are gonna twerk and twirl all up and down Bourbon St this weekend only to go back home and be transphobic toward Black Trans Women.

Friday August 8, 2025. Week 1 of my Black August fast has been completed and we are now on Day 1 of Week 2. My life definitely is more tuned in to a frequency of ease and flow and I am definitely sleeping and waking up better without alcohol in my life.

Considering how much the main BET Awards already skews toward Hip-Hop I really don't think the indefinite suspension of the BET Hip-Hop Awards is much of a loss. I am way more upset about the loss of the Soul Train Awards cause it was enjoying a nice lil reboot.
