haven't mentioned this yet but it looks like spoutible has the ability to send a post from here to bluesky and mastodon, i set it up last year and tested it, it works pretty well for mastodon but seemingly not for bluesky😭set it up again so testing testing one two one two...

and obviously just cuz i can dm people freely on here now it definitely doesn't mean i'm now gonna be spending any great length of time on here any time soon, barely anyone from mlbtwt is regularly active here and there's still lots of things bluesky need to add to their app first

took over half a year but it finally worked on all 4 of my accounts on here, really should have taken just 5 minutes smh

haven't been on here in ages cuz bluesky blocked access to dms on here as part of a new online safety law in the UK and i've failed the verification thing at least 5 times 💀gonna try it again to see if it works now, if it does then expect to see me on here more from now on

woah it's been a while since i last added to this thread... we've now got proper post threading and now in the latest update (1.99) we have 3 minute videos! yet another way bluesky is beating twitter, now all i need are functional dm's and private accounts and then i'm set to leave twitter for good!

it's probably just a glitch, hopefully it'll go back to normal on its own soon 🙏🏻

atp if they don't urgently sort their shit out it's gonna absolutely kill off the momentum this app has and probably the entire decentralisation movement with it, bluesky has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get the upper hand and i fear they're gonna throw it away 😭😭 end of rant lol

atp i don't care for decentralisation, i just want a direct replacement for twitter that has all of its features and more, with better moderation, all for free. get the user base first, THEN decentralise.

dm's are one of the most used features of a lot of bluesky's competitors including twitter and instagram and there really is a massive user base of people thar would make bluesky their main platform, but ONLY IF IT HAS ALL THE FEATURES WE WANT AND ARE USED TO

yes i know it's incredibly hard to make a function dm's system on a decentralised protocol in the first place but i feel if the bluesky devs worked harder to utilise the full potential of the protocol it wouldn't be too hard to add these relatively small additional things in?

there's so many basic things it doesn't have yet, like:
- reactions to messages
- the ability to reply to individual messages
- an icon to see if the other person is typing
- a sent/seen indicator
- the ability to send a variety of media
etc etc etc.....

in the google play store in the uk it's currently #8 out of ALL FREE APPS - only a fraction behind Threads, ahead of Instagram and Facebook and a LOOOOOOONG way ahead of #that other shithole!!
