*sighs* but I guess when you consider that a good majority of belief systems have some form of “do not kill/do not murder”,
And we’ve never really -grokked- that as a species over the last 20-30 millenia of our existence and evolution… I guess it isn’t surprising, just sad.

Especially given there’s a fair amount of stuff in the combined old and New Testament that I think still has a decent amount of moral/ethical resonance today, over two Millenia later.

I guess it’s the sheer level of.. audacity? Contempt? For the actual writing of the religion they’re claiming to be part of that -i- find a offensive, even as an agnostic- and gods know how people with genuine faith feel on the topic

Example being those crass American megachurches run by people with the same odds of getting into the kingdom of “their” god, as I do of getting a live camel through the eye of a needle..

And there’s a number of people somewhere between shocking and horrifying who have someone gotten into control of a church/denomination without reading it fucking once.
