The Gibson RD Artist has a reversed body that's reminiscent of a Firebird/Thunderbird, but a little curvier and with a 2/2 split headstock instead of the Thunderbird's 4-in-line. It's got active electronics that were designed by Moog. There's a volume control for each of the two humbucker pickups, as well as a bass control and a treble control. Oddly, the three switches to control the electronics (pickup switch/bright mode/expansion & compression control) are right behind the bridge instead of down by the knobs or on the cutaway horns.
