Hollywood pumps the brakes on Toyota The entertainment industry's leading sustainability group says privately it will cut ties with its top sponsor, after critics accuse Toyota of funding climate denial.

Toyota funds more climate deniers in Congress than any other car company, and just 1.2% of its U.S. sales were EVs last year. Under pressure from @janefonda.com, Hollywood's leading environmental group is cutting ties with the Japanese automaker: www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/hollywood-...

Want to understand CalRecycle's chemical recycling rules? You'll need to pay CalRecycle's latest attempt at rules to implement the state's plastic waste law is under fire โ€” including for its decision to use ISO guidelines on hazardous waste that cost nearly $200 to access.

In the continuing saga of CA's plastic law, CalRecycle introduced draft regs re chem recycling based on a report you can't access unless you pay $187 -which is kind of a scam, bc no standards or guidelines are in report. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ #plasticwaste @gavinnewsom.bsky.social #SB54 www.latimes.com/environment/...

The average American pays: $.62/yr for the National Endowment for the Arts & $1.35/year for the Corp. for Public Broadcasting (< 1 cup of joe) Maybe we should focus on the $3707 average (incl. $6 for space x contracts) we each paid in 2024 towards the military budget!? Perspective much?

GOOD - 10 year cut is out, but the provision to cancel credits when home is sold is still in. This needs to GO. Huge opposition. School districts wrote in + low income folks wrote in to debunk the myth re rich people have solar (in 2023, 39% <$100,000 household income. 12% <50K per Berkeley Lab) +

& this is a component of clean energy infrastructure too. Need to smelt it without coal, which besides being the dirtiest energy is also very expensive and why a plant in MO closed last year. Canada supplies 50% now this article says. Make local but with clean energy..too much sense for this prez?

Wish ca net metering cuts had nothing to do with it, but good news for those ready to invest. Best thing we've done getting solar and storage years ago. No blackouts, stay off grid a lot in spring and early summer especially, use battery during peak hours. Energy sage provides lots of good info.

Taking it personal since I pushed for this ban on gas 2stroke engines which causes outsized harm to air & health in a state with terrible air quality. Fight, CA, for this and the cleaner trucks...for communities, drivers, workers. And keep the strong $ incentives needed to help make the transition!

I feel like I just need a repeating post here. This is nuts. I mean, nerd-class nuts, but still.
Again, PJM is seeing LMPs of $100/MWh, driven largely by Dominion's $400/MWh, which are in turn driven largely by $1200-$1400/MWh prices from NoVA's data centers.
That's up from $30/MWh.๐Ÿฅœ๐Ÿ”ฉ!

"Even though homeownersโ€™ solar panels helped keep demand for electricity flat for 20 years, the three utilitiesโ€™ spending on transmission and distribution infrastructure had risen by 300%, McCann found." - www.latimes.com/environment/...

What kind of BS is this? She's listed as an "exec" on many Edison filings. She was then and is now a schill for the for-profit utilities. Solar has kept energy needs flat for years here, saving $$$ on new projects. Her crap bill that seeks to undermine current solar contracts has a hearing tomorrow.
