Yeah, I kept wondering if he just had a specific date picked out for some reason after the filing deadline? Or some significant milestone for him?

Can't file to run as Independent and then vote in a June primary.

Until I can fully participate in democracy, including the primaries that currently select who ends up on our ballot, as an independent voter, I'm going to keep making the choice to vote with a party.

Look forward to seeing full suffrage extended to all without having to pick the red or blue team!

Glad to have engaged with the programming on #StrongTowns brought to Iowa City by JoCo Affordable Housing and Greater, IC. Today's conversation on implementing the approach as an elected official really feels like a strong piece of the vision for Iowa's future.

Did a little economic development of my own picking up a breakfast sandwich in Marion after my meeting with Professional Developers of Iowa to discuss their legislative priorities for 2026.

Workforce, infrastructure, livability. Some really good specifics that are important to all of us.

Beyond all of this, the compact makes a lot of demands with no indication of any benefit to institutions for blindly complying.

I also question the wisdom of provisions relating to students who want to come to Iowa Universities from abroad and see dangerous contradictions across sections relating to Institutional Neutrality and institutional hiring. Not to mention the free speech concerns it raises.

I have read the compact and have serious concerns about the statement "Women's equality requires..." I have never wanted a bunch of politicians telling my what MY equality requires, and I don't understand how women's equality requires anything more or less than is required for men's equality.
