It’s definitely not funny at all. But that’s kinda why I like it. We don’t get a lot of AAA weird Japanese stuff anymore and to me that always feels like the not funny one liners are channeling that

I loved the point about the hero classes and the no peaceful way to fire shoulder mounted rockets. I feel like other games in this genre have a “we are all in this nightmare together” feeling. Everyone trying to survive. Marathon feels like the running man where it’s turned the PvP into sport

11) Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Post Piranesi I wanted to try more Clarke. Mostly loved this, even with the glacial pace. Brilliant world building, iconic characters. I felt wanting in terms of plot. Fairies/magic aren’t my thing, but Clarke is so good at grounding in reality.

I think the furniture just needs to be more powerful. I thought I’d be doing a lot more selective breeding and passing on specific things from my favorite cats but instead I kinda just get random shit. And I love the game. But it feels like they got too excited by saying “500 hours to 100%”

Even more than that I just don’t think they made one that fits their audience. I expected this to be the more casual extraction experience that Arc Raiders ended up being. But Marathon demands being actually good at pvp. And doesn’t seem to be breeding that social experience either.

Marathon has such an awesome look to it. But I still feel like, in the admittedly little i have played of it, that a lot of the game is a mess. In an genre full of unintuitive games, this might be the worst one in that aspect.
