Feel like I’m probably preaching to the choir here but would Trump be willing to give up this much territory? Bear in mind apparently it’s also unconstitutional for Ukraine to cede land to a foreign country.

While this is very much true, we’ve ignored the last several dozen they committed, why should this be any different? (By “we” I mean the international community as a whole)

2) as long as Russia is a member of the UN their soldiers are as accountable to the ICC as everyone else. Given Russia has permanent seats on various UN councils the only way they’ll stop being a UN member is if they withdraw themselves. Which they won’t.

I’m not sure if you’re right or not off the top of my head, but under international law these are Russian soldiers, not terrorists. I’m not arguing that they’re not conducting terrorism, just pointing out that the law sees them as Russian soldiers first.

I’m not talking about US law, especially since I’m British. I’m talking about international law. The kind of law that will get your ass hauled in front of the highest court on the planet.

It is in fact illegal to execute soldiers who have surrendered to you without a very, very good reason. Two wrongs don’t make a right. We are better than that.

Ah yes, the ad hominem fallacy. The mark of one who refuses to admit defeat so must resort to personal attacks. That should win your case.

Unless you were actually in the room when the law was written you cannot possibly claim to know how it should have been represented. What has now happened is that the Supreme Court has given their view on how it should be interpreted, and that is what we must now conform to.

The only differences I can see between pre- and post-judgment are that trans people have fewer rights, and predators have moved from claiming to be trans women to claiming to be trans men. I’m struggling to see your point.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is nothing in that article that directly contradicts anything in the open letter. There are passages explaining why there were no trans voices in the debate but I can’t see anything that disagrees with the facts laid out originally.

Because the world is run by old white men. Heaven forbid a woman have any say in anything ever.
