As rare as it was to see Bam Adebayo in foul trouble, what Kel'el Ware did in his absence against the Nets was even more uncommon.

Ware also has the first 10-10-5-5 game *off the bench* in NBA history.

Kel'el Ware has the first 10-10-5-5 game in Heat history and is the 22nd player in NBA history to hit those marks (with blocks and steals).

Nic Claxton keeps trying Ware in the center of the zone and I'm not entirely sure why.

He'll need some assists in the fourth quarter, but Kel'el Ware - at 9-7-1-4-6 - is theoretically within reach of a 5x5 game.

Erik Spoelstra remains the best in the league at drawing up -- and getting -- a lob out of a timeout.

The Nets are on pace for, I kid you not, about 60 turnovers.

Much as they did against Houston, the Heat ran their double-big, Bam-Ware, lineup with plenty of zone against Brooklyn's paint-forward attack.

Much like Houston, Brooklyn couldn't hit a shot.

The Rockets didn't make a single three with Bam and Kel'el on the floor together the other night, with plenty of zone being used, and I'm not sure Brooklyn has either.

Nolan Traore has done some nice things in this one, but Davion Mitchell has been a very touch matchup, physically, for him.

Nets have been playing hard enough, but they've been pretty clearly overmatched so far. Shooting 3-of-13 from three is not the formula for lottery-bound teams against Miami.

Erik Spoelstra got a ton of mileage with zone and double-big looks against the Rockets, but it was Pelle Larsson who busted Houston’s chosen coverage when they tried to put a center on him.

Miami used 44 possessions of zone defense vs. Houston tonight, a season high by a good margin, allowing just 0.64 ppp.

Of the 29 possessions with Bam-Ware on the floor, 15 of them were in zone. Durant was off the floor for 11 of those, with Houston scoring just 0.42 ppp.

Kevin Durant was a handful as always, but the Heat pulled out a clutch win for two main reasons.

One, Pelle Larsson took the right approach to being defended by Sengun. And two, the Bam-Ware lineup dominated the non-Durant minutes with zone.

And we have ourselves another clutch Heat game.

28.02.2026 22:54 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's four times now Pelle Larsson has scored going right into Sengun's chest.

Niko is hurt (back) and not available.

28.02.2026 22:13 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Durant being a +17 in a one-point game tracks with what we've seen so far. Heat's best minutes, by far, came when they went zone (with the double-big look) against Houston's lineups that were more lacking in shooting and creation.

28.02.2026 21:46 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't know if the Heat have seen any lineup with less shooting than what Houston had out there when KD/Reed were resting. Zone accomplished a lot during those minutes.

28.02.2026 21:29 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Just about any time the Heat shoot 6-of-13 (6-of-12 before a heave) from three in a quarter, it's typically going to be a good quarter. But Jaime's rim pressure (3-of-3 at the rim) is the supplemental offense that makes it a very good offensive quarter.

28.02.2026 21:17 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Pretty much everything the Heat are running is directly at Sengun, who has been defending Pelle Larsson. Larsson took him to the rim a couple times early, then Rockets double Herro off screen to a swing-swing corner three, and both Herro and Wiggins have hit threes over Sengun.

This one may matter more than others.

The Sixers may have beaten Miami at their own game early on, but after a spirited comeback behind Adebayo and Herro threes, the Heat again struggled for late offense as their opponent packed the paint.

Heat getting beat 15-2 in fast-break points in the first half is not something we've seen often this year, if at all.

Not a Heat stat, but pretty cool. Among the 25 players with at least 20 made lobs this season, their average Shot Quality (expected eFG) on those shots is 87%, per Genius Sports tracking data.

Victor Wembanyama's Shot Quality on *made* lobs is 77.1. Only player below 84.
