What even are feet this was miserable (but necessary).
03.02.2026 20:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I couldn't find any bother to draw today, so I just drew some mastiffs on a whim. Couldn't seem to get my head or my hand into gear.
03.02.2026 18:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Busy and tiring weekend physically, but I still had the drive to get these done for the week.
I might spend more time on anatomy this week but we'll see, I don't want to make it drudge work by focusing rigorously on something. I tend to get bored.
I enjoy these studies now for revealing where I need to go next in terms of more focused practice.
I have absolutely no fucking idea how to draw knees or legs for example and never have done. So that'll be part of next weeks itinerary.
I still struggle with faces and especially eyes at angles outside of my comfort zone, but I still enjoyed working on this.
I also turned it into Wretch cause I haven't drawn Wretch (or gilfs) in so long.
One last one I didn't expect to do before bed, then time slipped through my fingers and suddenly we're past midnight.
Incredibly wonky attempt at three point perspective, just trying to construct off the ruler is boggling me a bit.
The challenge is enjoyable however.
Mildly bugging me it doesn't have a little date and title, so just a secondary upload with that added.
29.01.2026 23:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'll be totally honest this is the first time perspective has really clicked with me, off a random google image search.
Saved for prosperity here, and for anyone else it might benefit.
Still making big use of the procreate perspective ruler.
I need to start working into more complex forms, as well especially rounded edges and spherical things.
I'm going to keep to basics for this week however. I just want foundational knowledge and confidence before going further.
Babies first two point perspective drawing.
I tend to use a lot of 3D references for big perspective scenes, or I just use one point and layer everything in using values and vibes.
I want to improve on being able to conceptualise and build however, so its back to basics.
Tried different techniques for these colour thumbnails the past couple of days.
28.01.2026 12:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Planned to do another but that never came to fruition.
Learning and experimenting. I need to go look at other artists for some ideas of where to go next.
When I first started these studies I absolutely hated environments, but I'm really coming round to them now I've settled into things.
Trying to slowly push out of my comfort zone by working in some work on structures and manmade scenery.
Drank too deep of the Deadlock sauce and fell behind a bit.
Spent the past couple of days trying to do some bone material studies. As ever, my scratchy pencil stuff is always better, but I'm glad to have tried painting it just for the extra knowledge.
I wouldn't of gotten the last one without it.
And some quick legs working very vaguely from the Morphology book. I need to work on applying these forms to references, whilst still keeping what I want.
So far, very difficult, but thoroughly enjoyable for the challenge.
Working on and off from reference to get a feel for the shapes. I'm in the early days of wrapping my head around knuckles and fingers, but the palm continues to evade me.
21.01.2026 18:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love drawing animals, all their whacky shapes are delightful.
Played around with yet another way to add colours to sketches. This one is by far the easiest, just refine the darkest parts of the linework with the colour I'd use to paint those same shadows. Job done.
Thin?? Think.
20.01.2026 16:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I absolutely was not feeling it today and I thin it shows. Did some pretty low effort gesture drawings, aimed for 20, did 16, so not nothing at least.
20.01.2026 16:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A screen shot of TrueRef Flow, a timed gesture practice tool. It features a woman standing straight, with one hand up in a mage like gesture.
A screenshot of TrueRef Pose, a free pose library. It features several images of an athletic woman poses in a variety of different ways.
I have officially launched TrueRef's new timed gesture tool (Flow) & free pose library (Pose)! Both are linked on trueref.io.
While limited right now, both will contain our full free library by the 1st. π€

Gonna have to rejig my schedule for these studies. I forget how much the early rises for work are absolutely destroying.
Maybe one week of studies spread out over two. Don't wanna off myself.
Hah! I see it.
17.01.2026 03:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If not many cube then some cube.
Getting back into work after a holiday so a bit less energy than prior to do loads. Still tho, gotta keep chipping away daily.
Today was supposed to be heads, faces, facial features - yadda yadda, but I was too knackered from work and I just sort of doodled for a bit.
Not everyday is gonna be peak productivity, but I'm gonna try and throw the pen around the page in any capacity.
I usually just sort of instinctively draw shapes for arms, but they tend to lack structure, so I'm trying to address that.
14.01.2026 16:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Bumbling through some torsos to start the days practice off.
14.01.2026 14:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's easier to figure it all out with values, it feels a lot more natural, a lot easier to see the form all that. I do want to try and figure it out better tho, for the sake of it.
13.01.2026 17:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Spent most of today just drawing on procreate with the perspective tool.
Too many knocks to the noggin over the years has made depth a difficult concept for me in general, so I'm just trying to get the muscle memory in.
It's an idea, not a final. I've got the thoughts onto paper and that'll do for now.
12.01.2026 20:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A concept for the project I'd like to develop, and is part of the reason why I'm trying to get my shit together all of a sudden.
I scrapped it originally when discovering it was very underdeveloped, but I'm being less precious about it now, so I threw some shades on it and I'm calling it 'done'.
