A warning: Don't attempt to log in to your FurAffinity accounts or trust ANYTHING from FA's Xhitter account or on the FA site until the attacks they're undergoing are resolved.

Just dropping another heads up - there's a major security incident going on with FurAffinity currently, per their Discord. Mods state that they've invalidated all login tokens (essentially forcing everyone to log out) for security reasons. Don't log in and don't trust anything that comes from their Twitter as it's been hijacked and appears to be posting crypto scams. As with the above disclaimer, I'm not a FA mod, don't listen to me listen to their Discord, and do your best to stay safe online and keep your stuff safe.

Small announcement regarding the announcement today from FurAffinity mods - they're advising you not log into FA at this time.

I'm not an FA mod, take any questions to their Discord as that seems to be their official comms channel currently - and keep yourselves safe.

The big post that was going around Twitter got pulled down - not specifically at my request, but after my QT+clarification, so.

It looks like the FA staff's line from their Discord is, for now, not to expect any immediate changes. They mention there are still things that are uncertain, of course.

The statements I made were being said by much, much larger accounts last night as well - I genuinely had no idea what I was saying would reach this kind of audience or get this kind of feedback.

I still think it's prudent advice. I still stand by it, even if I don't know the full details.

Posted an update here - I didn't intend to imply I know exactly what's going on with their finances, and perhaps overstated the danger (though frankly, we don't know right now).

I know what it looks like for social media to fall apart, and I want people to manage their own accounts and spaces, and have backups ready in case something *does* happen.

I know Neer has struggled with it in the past - the site's financial situation is a frequent discussion topic around the wider furry world. But I don't know, specifically, what their finances look like right at this moment.

Doing some damage control here - I'm sorry if anyone inferred that I'm associated with FA, when I'm very much not.

I'm a concerned outsider who, based on *several* conversations last night, wanted to give some prudent advice to people who rely on FA as a platform.

The circumstances are pretty tragic, and while Dragoneer and I may have had our differences, I will say this up front: No one deserves to die because the medical system refused to help them. This is a tragic injustice, and something everyone should be truly angry about. [Continued]

I've made an announcement post regarding the death of Dragoneer and its effect on our community.

I find it shocking, horrible, and the potential loss of FA because of it to be something that will do incalculable damage to the furry community.

Hey folks, just a heads up that there will be an outage in the FurryList feeds at around 10AM PST on Wednesday the 21st of February due to an upstream disruption. Hopefully it won't take too long for me to resolve, but I'm away on a business trip so could take me longer than expected 😅

Remember, furries make the internets run.

If there are no furries, you should run away, because the internet is *not* working there.
