I checked the wiki page on Sprouts and it did indicate it had some stores in NC, but didn’t mention where. It does have a bigger footprint out west however. I’ve seen Banza (I called it Bonza elsewhere) advertise on YT and some cable shows, so I would think it is distributed nationally.

The rally point on Bernardo Center Drive by Vons is close enough to walk to from my home. If that wasn’t available I would head downtown to the bigger event.

Bonza chickpea pasta comes in several different varieties and is very high in protein and fiber. It’s easy to find in my area at Sprouts or Vons grocery stores.

I’m in SoCal as well (SD area). The only orchid I grow outside is a cymbidium. I might try growing some phalenopsis outside if you have been successful doing that. It did get down into the high 50’s F last night so I might need to wait until next summer.

Today I made chickpea pasta shell salad with faux bacon, onions and peas from a YT recipe from Derek Sarno. Easy to make and great as prepped or served cold. Chickpea pasta has a good amount of protein and fiber and I would bet even non-vegans would enjoy it.

That name sounds very familiar for the PI from the Minnesota team I got to work with on occasion. I remember they constructed a special observation chamber that they somehow poked through the ice shelf so you could go down a short tube and sit inside a 360 degree room to observe the seals swimming.

I was fortunate enough to make 4 trips to McMurdo for my grad work - 1981,82,84,and 85. While there to collect data, I also made friends with a team from the U of Minnesota who were studying the Wendell seal populations. I got to help them do some baby seal surveys as the timing was ideal for pups

While in grad school in the ‘80s at the U of Illinois, I made several trips to McMurdo to study the antifreeze proteins of Antarctica fish. Occasionally a Wendell seal would come up through the ice holes we used for fishing despite being several km offshore. We would stop work to let them breathe.

We adopted Pico from a shelter up in Santa Barbara 11 years ago. I don’t know anything about her parents but I could believe her dad could have been ginger colored. Most ginger colored cats are male from what I’ve read.

I also complained on the feedback form that an official federal website was no place for partisan propaganda. As a former USDA employee I am disgusted that this is allowed to be posted.

That is a very interesting statistic. I think I qualify for that goal myself.

Riley is a real beauty. My girl Pico has similar coloring; the orange color really shows off when she is sitting in a spot of sunshine for fun.

Got to see the Falcon 9 rocket flying over the San Diego area tonight around 7 PM. It launched from Vandenburg up north from here and was traveling from northwest to southeast over me.

Made a pot of black beans in my Instant Pot this morning so I could make some black bean soup for dinner tonight.
