Just installed a new smart birdfeeder with a motion sensitive video camera. The gold finches and house finches didn’t take long to check it out on this nice sunny morning in San Diego.

Hoping that holds true for another 10 years or more. Plan to go electric when it does reach that point.

My 2015 Honda Fit has less than 30K on it. I’m planning to keep it for a long time as well.

After a couple 80 F days here in San Diego, signs of spring are showing up. Looking forward to seeing the spring foliage on a young Acer palmatum “Winter Orange”.

With all the bad news of the day, sometimes it helps to just appreciate a quiet moment like this sunrise here in my part of San Diego.

My gal Pico does the same thing. Looks like they could have been litter mates.

I enjoyed a bowl of beans for breakfast this morning. That was before I knew it was a special beans appreciation holiday today.

Have you had a chance to check out the Santa Barbara bowl for any concerts? I used to live up in Goleta and saw Peter Gabriel play at the SB Bowl with a ~50 piece orchestra accompanying. A very memorable experience as well.

I have some fabulous memories of seeing Pink Floyd live in 1976 when they played at the Milwaukee Brewers baseball stadium. They set up on home plate with giant speaker towers on the bases. They had just released the Wish You Were Here album and also from Money. Wonderful concert.

I’ve always maintained that the presidency should never be considered an entry-level government job.

Honda Fits are awesome - with the back seats folded down, there is a huge space that can hold a lot of cargo. I’ve had mine for 10 years and it’s been great. I think Honda made a mistake to discontinue production of this model.

The California Transportation Commission has approved $1.1B to fund new zero-emission buses, charging stations, and other infrastructure and investments to make California communities safer and more climate resilient.

As Trump fails to upgrade America's infrastructure, California continues to lead.

My local Sprouts grocery store now has these items. I picked up the sesame ginger faux chicken and will plate that on top of some basmati rice with a side of steamed broccoli.

I hear you. I can appreciate that it can be discomforting if a plant based food is too realistic. I’m also not looking for realism; just something that is savory and has some texture that is enjoyable. I haven’t seen this new item in any of the stores out by me yet. I’ll likely try it out.

Please do let us know. I usually always have some Just Eggs on hand (now called Eggs from Plants) and would be interested in this new product if it tastes reasonably good.
