Hi old house friends! Iβm in the long game fixing a 1916 bungalow kit house. Using linseed oil paint, pine tar, lime wash, plaster, and salvaged materials. Third summer coming up in 2025 where Iβm stripping the exterior and repainting with linseed oil, reglazing windows, and making storm windows.

24.01.2025 20:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Photograph of a medium-sized pigeon standing on a metal post. It is a a mostly brown bird, patterned with white, orange, grey-blue, and purple. Many of its wing feathers are iridescent, having the appearance of bronze in diffuse light.
Photograph of the same pigeon preening, framing its wing and head. Its neck is bent over so its head is upside down as it runs its beak along a wing feather. Its metallic wing feathers are raised slightly for easier access.
Similar to the last photo, but zoomed out slightly and with the metallic feathers in focus, showing a range of colours including orange, yellow, blue, green, and purple.
Photograph cropped to emphasise the beauty and complexity of some of the the Bronzewing's metallic feathers, with enough detail to make out some of the individual hair-like filaments that make up the metallic effect.
Common Bronzewing (male) preening on my balcony.

Writing isn't what you do after you have an idea. It's how you develop an inkling into an insight.
Turning thoughts into words sharpens reasoning. What's fuzzy in your head is clear on the page.
"I'm not a writer" shouldn't stop you from writing. Writing is a tool for thinking.
Black and white closeup photo of a shorthaired white kitten with striking blotches of black fur on its face and head. Itβs a great shot of a beautiful kitten, looks like it may have been taken by a professional.
This photo says βEdna Wilkeβ on the back and I hope that was the name of the kitten. Photo from my collection, ca. 1950s.
