Reporter went to Middlebury Immersion School.
"There are more francophones in Congo than in Belgium or Switzerland… If French is the language of Molière, Balzac, and Camus, it is also the language of Aimé Césaire, Léopold Senghor, and Mariama Bâ. By 2050, French could be the most spoken language…"

FSL teachers! This series is a great way to teach several curricular competencies. It allows for fun dialogue between students who take the roll of Arlo or Pips. I use this in French 11 and yes, the big kids love it. Ps. The info learnt above crows is also awesome!

EEF: ChatGPT cuts lesson planning by nearly a third
The saved time did not come at the expense of quality, independent evaluation finds
So instead of fighting for smaller classes and more time to plan and collaborate with actual humans, districts will jump on this as the bold, innovative solution to teacher workload, and then gradually use the "efficiencies" to ... increase teacher workload. Why are we so gullible and short-sighted

What do we do when conspiracy theories enter the classroom? How do we help young people to think critically, evaluate evidence, and weigh truth claims?
What is the role of #HistoryEducation in fostering understanding of how we know what we know about the past?
Hope this 🧵 & resources might help.

Dyslexia, Bilingualism, and Learning a Second Language
Dyslexia is the most common learning disability. Yet we know very little about it when two or more languages are involved.
“Will my FRENCH IMMERSION dyslexic child struggle to learn to read in both French and English?” Parents often pose this question prior to withdrawing their child from the FI program, hoping that a switch to English will be the answer. This is rarely the case. www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/life...
