I'm thrilled to celebrate the first Persons Day in Ontario today.
October 18, 1929 was a landmark moment in the fight for women’s equality in Canada when five brave women succeeded in having women included in the legal definition of “persons.”

Ontario Greens are committed to acting on the recommendations of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and will continue to oppose legislation like Bill 5 that undermines Indigenous freedom and attacks Indigenous lands and sovereignty.

This morning I took part in the annual Truth and Reconciliation walk hosted by The Healing of the Seven Generations.
It was great to see so many people from the KW community come together for this powerful reflection on the lasting impacts of residential schools.

It's such a treat to be able to speak with our farmers and learn about their stewardship of Ontario's farmland.

Yesterday, I joined folks from across KW to mark Drug Poisoning Awareness Day.
It's clear to everyone that something needs to change. Ontario needs a more ambitious strategy to address the tragic toll of drug poisonings.

As we celebrate love, identity, and the progress made by 2SLGBTQ+ communities, we must also recognize the rising tide of hate and violence around the world.
Pride began as a protest, and this year, the fight for equality, safety, and dignity continues.
I was glad to see the government’s announcement yesterday that it will not claw back the incoming Canada Disability Benefit from ODSP recipients.
This is great news and @ontariogreens.bsky.social were proud to stand alongside the tireless advocates who pushed for this important win.
The Ford government's anti-encampment bill won't help solve the homelessness crisis. All it will do is criminalize those who are already down on their luck.
We need more supports, not more stigmatization.
Today marks the start of #MentalHealthWeek.
As Canadians face more and more external challenges we need a strong mental health plan to address our growing needs.
Mental health is health. It's time we invest in mental health care.
We must combat the racism, colonialism, poverty, lack of social services that have lead to violence towards Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA people.

Today as we reflect on Red Dress Day, we must hold ourselves and our government accountable, and demand immediate and real action to prevent violence and to seek justice for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
