today I started a new side project

Basically the smaller an object it the less accurate the reflection is going to be when trying to display that object. But again with enough distortion you wont really notice unless you look for it

A fun optimization hack for planar reflections like these is that you can render them at 1/4th the size and it'll be unnoticeable under all the distortion. I got settings for rendering the reflections at 1/8th and 1/16th and they both work fine but you introduce some "popping"

Got proper reflections working! Last step is to make them jiggle with the waves, after that we're golden

Noticing a very fun thing bluesky will do which is changing the volume of videos for you without asking...

And it's also huge for me that this is by far the most experimental I've gone with my music. Before this I mostly wrote ambient / chill music but always wanted to go into something darker and cerebral. Glad I got the chance to with this project ❤️

Grass shader update, now with an alpha texture that cuts the triangles into more grass like shapes, and it now responds to lighting + shadows to make it all blend together!

Same director of Avgrunden so the bar was in hell to begin with 💀
