Bad week.

Like, I mean, choices have long been made, things settle in stone. None of this now really matters. Like screaming into an empty hallway. The only one, no return, no echo. It's deserved on my part.

Reminder: none of this matters anyway. We're all fucked regardless. That said, I think i have the ideal screenplay im starting on. Horror/comedy that takes from my real life experiences in corporate america.

Going to work on a new personal project, it's a pretty low lift, but I'm kind of excited for it.

Going to rework a script idea into a short. Shooting for 15 min max then try and get an indie who might want to make it.

Refreshingly offbeat creepy cult classic brings emotional depth to its nightmare narrative. Its seriously scary and Angus Scrimm's an absolute scream. 1979.

When I was a kid I watched this VHS a lot, like a serious amount. Kind of a crazy way to teach kids safety. Directed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator).

Longing for the things I never felt good enough for in the first place.

I rewatched Nightbreed again this week and I wish that Barker had made more films. It’s not even particularly what he was best at so I understand not focusing at it, but the back to back combo of Hellraiser and this have such a feeling to them that doesn’t exist in a lot of work.

Putting in a few hours of work today. With how messed up this week was I'm behind. Not my ideal way to spend a Sunday.

Instead im stewing, reflecting, thinking about times long gone. Mostly because im dumb and think way to highly of myself in places I probably dont fit anymore. Memory is a motherucker when you remember everything.

I should be going to sleep, but its Friday and frankly im not drunk enough.

Can i do it? Yeah. Still, fucked. Had a week to get this going. Settled on a day.

Just a little insight. Product teams fuck up, run a bug in the system and admittedly are quick to fix. Now we have to inform the clients of the fuck up, enter me. Spend 8 hours debating, build the the send lists. Everything is still up in the air. Send deadline is in the morning. Fucked.

Im a big fan of remote first companies. WFH is my ideal, but the timezone accommodation and the last minute drops are driving me crazy. Im an introvert, its preferred, but the company has to manage it well. Not feeling that at the moment.

Today has been a shit show. Really my whole week has been fire after fire and I'm running on fumes. If this is what my weeks are going to be like, is this where I want to be?

Got hit real hard by something and have felt like absolute shit the last few days.

Random, not random thought: if I had the means I'd buy the house on 76th. The basement alone is a reason why. Some of my favorite moments and favorite people live in the memory there.

Watched Good Luck, Have fun, Don't Die. Kinda fucking loved it. Irreverent. Would pair well with Southland Tales.

Today's work day was just obnoxious. People had all last week to do reviews and waited till today when projects are already moving forward. Not sure I like this way of working. I'm tired. Was hoping to get some writing in tonight. Will probably just find a movie to watch instead.

Who am I kidding, im always thinking about them.
