Probably too long.

Huge net negative. Not even debatable. Has carried so much water for conservatives while people still consider it a "liberal rag"... it's comical how off perceptions are.

*Illegally* redraw its maps, per my understanding. That detail doesn't seem to be breaking through, but it's critical to understanding this event.

I though good journalists verified information before running it. Didn't think it depended on a specific position but was part of the professional ethic.

What we know then is that the New York Times is running stories without verification, based only on WH sourcing (*this* WH).

That is an incredible statement about where journalism is at the Grey Lady.

It's not unprecedented. Has happened several times in the past in multiple states.

Putin has been around through 4 presidential administrations (counting Trump's 2 terms as one). If our leaders don't understand this by now, it's just willful blindness.

Does it help? Sure. Is it an efficient or effective use of anyone's time? Debatable. I would say mostly no.

It's a ton of work, puts it all on the backs of volunteers of inconsistent quality led by low paid staffers with not enough time to train anyone properly.

Call lists in my experience, are terrible. Half the numbers don't work at all.

And results are hard to quantify.

Institutions have an importance. They play a key role in a free society. In places where authoritarianism has taken hold, the institutions were among the first to come under attack...as they are here.

I would encourage anyone inclined to send them a message expressing that - politely of course.

Institutional collapse in the face of threats by the Trump administration are widening, becoming more and more noticeable. Kamala Harris even called it out in a recent interview.

Anyway, here's one more example.

Someone who opposes genocide against Palestinians is almost by definition a person opposed to genocide, and is ALSO MORE LIKELY to oppose it against Jews and Israelis, no matter their politics.

Genocide is genocide. It's wrong.

I was dead set against him when he first ran for governor (in my state). Of course I supported him over Rauner, but since then I've seen much more. his actions show he really gets it.

Dems could be reaching out to groups targeted by Trump—law firms, universities, hospitals—to understand the threats they are getting. Dems could be holding minority hearings to publicize those threats for the American people. Put a human face on these stories.
