New from me: 2 responses to the JBMS renaming survey used the n‑word in expressions of hate speech targeting Black people. These comments weren’t included in public reports of the survey results and only came to light when I pressed for unredacted records.

That’s why we are proposing James B Tabb Middle to avoid confusion. We feel like that clearly invokes the individual as opposed to the Tabb area. We did consider Ms Gee as well but when we were surveying the community many more people knew Rev. Tabb, and he was a leader with integration.
