Today marks the Autumn Equinox in the northern hemisphere. A brief moment when light and dark hold one another in balance.

Christianity is not godly when it sanctifies racism and blesses cruelty.
We can no longer pretend that cruelty wrapped in religious language is anything but what it is: harm. This isn’t about one man or one moment — it’s about a Christianity that has been weaponized to sanctify cruelty.

I made my first Venn diagram on Christian nationalism. The overlap? Christians who venerate bigots and those who swear politics isn’t in their faith. History shows they’ll betray neighbors while claiming righteousness. We suspected. Now we know. Find the PDF version on my substack.

Some grief is collective because the trauma was never chosen. Survivors of shootings, children starving in Gaza, families like Melissa Hortman’s.

Grief for the innocent is sacred. Grief for the vulnerable is holy. But grief for those who caused harm is not a burden we are required to carry.

When anger is all we breathe, we become the chaos. When we pause to breathe, we become the clarity and that clarity is what they fear the most.

The fear of hell was not holy. It was a cage. For years, I believed fear kept me faithful. What I couldn’t see was that it was never faith at all, it was control. For so many of us, the fear of hell was the last chain to break and the one that set us free.

The Return of Rage From Unchurched to No Longer a Christian

Sometimes anger returns just when you think you're past it. But what if it’s not a step backward—but forward? This is for the ones who thought they’d made peace, but now feel the burn of betrayal all over again. Rage isn’t the end of healing. Sometimes, it’s the doorway to deeper truth.

I don’t answer questions that are rooted in control and superiority. If your faith can’t handle people walking away from it, that’s a you problem. Not mine.

Christianity has been using the bible to justify hate for generations. People who use the bible to be homophobic and transphobic are reflecting their indoctrinated beliefs. It’s the same bible in America that was used to justify slavery and to stomp on human rights.

The choice is yours.

“Women raised us.” Yes and many of us upheld patriarchal values without realizing how much harm we were passing on. But healing means taking accountability, not shifting blame. If you’re still clinging to sexist beliefs, that’s not your mom’s fault anymore.

You can’t call it deconstruction if you’re still clinging to power granted by patriarchy. White Christian women have long benefited from proximity to white Christian men. Real work means naming the privilege we gained from the very systems that harmed others or it’s just self-preservation.

No. I don't have a church. I don't want a church. And I am not unfinished or incomplete because of it. For many of us leaving church is the most honest decision we’ve ever made.

We are not lost. We are not broken. We are not seeking a way back. We are unchurched, and we are thriving.
