I should be taking breaks when I play intense difficulty games but Clair Obscur (at Expert) proved to me I don't have the necessary restraint when something is that good. I sort of always left with a headache after 3-4 hours straight gameplay

I appreciate that the arrow of "stories short" frames half the image, meets with the upper right "short stories," but diverges to two arrows again just before the end. There's a hero's journey there, and the twist of the two arrows diverging again is inevitable. Masterful arrow work.

That's because it is :p Places have reduced their open windows a lot or just shut down entirely, and I barely see any anthology calls besides Flame Tree. I think it fluctuates like that in general though these are definitely trying times for the field. Promising new venues open as well though.

What I'm realizing through writing long-form is I'll always return to shorts as well. Long is a commitment, but shorts is where I get to experiment more liberally, re-discovering my writing and voice with each tale.

"2nd" draft done, and by 2nd I mean some sections were edited like 7 times and others just once and 32k words were eliminated entirely. Not sure what cursed number of draft it really is, but the story is down. What's left is the prose polish and an editor to roast me into re-thinking it all.
