Welcome to episode 714. We have two tales for you this week, about guardian eldritch horrors (by @amadolaila.bsky.social, read by @jimmyhorrors.bsky.social) and the risks of messing with time (by @linardos.bsky.social).

A break from social media was refreshing. Productive weeks, completed a new novella at 40k words (pending edits) and I had two lovely acceptances in the meantime. More to follow. 🖤

I appreciate that the arrow of "stories short" frames half the image, meets with the upper right "short stories," but diverges to two arrows again just before the end. There's a hero's journey there, and the twist of the two arrows diverging again is inevitable. Masterful arrow work.

i don't know. but i do have a very much sci-fi, very much alive book up on Netgalley right now that you should request 👀
comes with classic sci-fi tropes such as: big ship doesn't like you, passive aggressive men, and cool religious fashion.

That's because it is :p Places have reduced their open windows a lot or just shut down entirely, and I barely see any anthology calls besides Flame Tree. I think it fluctuates like that in general though these are definitely trying times for the field. Promising new venues open as well though.

Not sure what cursed number of draft it really is, but the story is down. What's left is the prose polish and an editor to roast me into re-thinking it all.
