Make sure everyone sees this then. The FCC apparently changed its “equal time” rule on talk shows to make it hard for Colbert or The View to air interviews with candidates like Talarico. Video link in comments.

This stuff at the highest level of a government and covering it up being so widespread is so shocking. Some members of the committee smirking, joking. Rolling out the Epstein evidence so it overwhelms and stops people connecting with the information is a strategy. Where is the humanity.

I have watched some of the hearing with Attorney General of the US. Its easily one of the more shocking things I've seen, particularly given so many survivors of Epstein are sat there. People who have gone through unimaginable things as children. Its so clear there is a massive cover-up.

We tested whether purpose in life mediates the relation between #loneliness and future risk of death.

Loneliness seems to set in motion the erosion of purpose in life, that has downstream consequences on length of life.

True story; there are long standing leaks in our PhD room and research corridor where participants are brought. Instead of actually fixing the leak the solution apparently is to build little wooden trays for the buckets catching water from the leaks. Excellence in action.

#Psychology still has a way to go. Seen few times recently.... I use a similar robust methodology in two papers. One gets "excellent paper...." The other, reject, methods etc not robust.

The glaring difference.....

One has significant effects, the other doesn't.

A couple of days ago I was in a museum dedicated to the Dutch resistance during WW2. Attendees were given the opportunity to leave a note on the wall.

Step back and take it in: the US is entering full authoritarian mode | Jonathan Freedland Trump’s dictator-like behaviour is so brazen, so blatant, that paradoxically, we discount it. But now it’s time to call it what it is, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

Its worth remembering that when the broad population realize (if they do) that a country is an authoritarian state, its already too late. Its less about what research they are cancelling or not funding, and more about the bigger picture.

I literally have no idea why someone would not share their review data. I think someone would have to actively try to avoid sharing it. 😕

Visas for researchers in Ireland are much much cheaper, much less hassle to renew, and you don't need one for your kids at all.

...in a clinical or academic setting without significant consequences. Whether openly speaking about what is happening, contributing to relevant charities, and so on, we can all do our part regardless of how small it is. Particularly in academic settings, we cant be silent about this.

This is what I saw every other day as a child in rural Connemara in Ireland which is an Irish speaking area (where I am from). It is so heartbreaking seeing what is happening. It is so disappointing and upsetting seeing so many of those in any form of power being silent.

As strange as it is to say, I'm convinced that the pandemic was such a globally devastating emergency that it masked how clearly incompetent and ignorant Trump is. He demonstrated plenty of it during his last term, but this is next level stuff.
