The role might be a good fit if you've finished a PhD/postdoc but aren't ready to move to a longer position yet. Or, if it goes well, the lab can support you to apply for a grant for a longer postdoc on metabolism/pluripotency, since we have preliminary data that could support a proposal.

Join @mpercharde.bsky.social Lab at the MRC LMS! We have an 18mo postdoc position to cover a couple of projects (maternity leave and paper revisions). The projects are focussed on chromatin in early mouse embryos and metabolism in mouse embryonic stem cells and pluripotency.

In this Review, @bryonyleeke.bsky.social, Imke Staffhorst and @mpercharde.bsky.social @mrc-lms.bsky.social explore roles of the nucleolus in mammalian development, focusing on genome organisation and chromatin regulation:

The nucleolus....large, rather boring organelle in the nucleus? No! Our review led by @bryonyleeke.bsky.social just out @dev-journal.bsky.social, highlighting new findings on nucleoli dynamics in development, intriguing roles in chromatin organisation & more.

Marsupial embryos lack the epigenetic reset seen in placental mammals DNA-methylation marks remain stable in early-stage opossum embryos.

Divergent DNA methylation dynamics in marsupial and eutherian embryos - Nature A study reports on the DNA methylation dynamics during embryogenesis in marsupials, showing that these differ from those occurring during embryogenesis in eutherian mammals.

We're excited to publish our latest study led by Bryony Leeke @bryonyleeke.bsky.social and Wazeer Varsally, now out in @nature.com 🍾This study focusses on the epigenome of marsupial embryos 🦘 mapping DNA methylation in embryo development to specific embryo events www.nature.com/articles/s41... 🧡
