Me laughing at people who criticize humanity saying "no one wants to work anymore" as though my disabled-ass wouldn't be growing a ton of food and medicine for my community (giving it away) if I had the land access.

Nobody wants to participate in exploitative systems. That's it.

More community gardens would be great! And make them accessible. Every apartment complex, suburb tract, etc. should come with a garden space & green space as a given.

We also need better education around composting, soil health, and growing food. People are SCARED of it, apparently!

I hate not having a compost. Throwing green waste in the bin feels like I am throwing good soil away.

I don’t believe individuals are responsible for climate change and environmental destruction (besides the billionaires). For me, composting was another way I felt connected to my food and world.

The MAHA movement is a cult that has captured a lot of chronically ill and disabled folks in the USA. The manipulation has broken a lot of disabled communities.

These pesticides damage the soil and human health. Creating more chronic illness.

Oppression is the only thing getting fed.

I don’t understand how people who lose close loved ones, especially their children, survive. I feel like I am burning to ash when not disassociated.

The β€œwellness” industry in the US does not sell wellness.

As someone disabled and working in agriculture, permaculture, and herbalism the industry sells distraction, at best. Distraction from root causes and disease caused by capitalism and colonialism.

Whiteness only taught me things that harm and detach me from my own humanity (and the world).

Unlearning is an act of healing. Painful at times. Sometimes the scars ache.

I don’t know if me or my loved ones are going to survive this US regime. But I am surviving mentally now because of the gifts of resilience and joy from marginalized knowledge keepers.

We may die and many are suffering. But my ability to still enjoy the sunset is one of those gifts of resilience.

Despite many chronically ill people supporting Tr*mp due to the MAHA movement, it’s all lies. And marginalized folks are most affected by these toxins.

Universal masking, which we tried for two hot seconds in America before people started throwing tantrums & posting up with their guns, is about the same kind of understanding ourselves as a collective we would actually need to counter fascism. You care about the community so you set a group norm.

Watching well off, white, older, liberal US-Americans β€œflee” the country because of the current regime leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

You could stay and help the marginalized folks that CAN’T flee survive.

But go enjoy your new life and nationalized healthcare I guess.

Pick one?! How about at least 3…
Watership Down
Grapes of Wrath
Fahrenheit 451

Honorable mention to anything by Becky Chambers as her works have been the greatest balm to me lately.

I let my cat knead my skin so aggressively that she draws blood. Because someday (maybe soon) she will die. I hope to be reminded of her affection every-time I see the artistry of scars on my thighs.

But probably... I'll will heal fine. Unfortunately, the scars of pet loss run deeper than skin.

Disabled people are allowed to bitch about their disability and still find enjoyment in things related to their disability. The two are not mutually exclusive.

An example (with a commonly accommodated disability!): poor eyesight sucks, but finding glasses to match your style might be fun.

One of the key ways you refuse to comply with fascism is by becoming even louder and more fearless in supporting vulnerable people. You SHOW that you are unwilling to throw the "undesirables" under the bus if only for self-preservation because under fascism you will also become undesirable one day.

People who love to go out of their way to be malicious are really emboldened right now.

I swear if someone has that much energy to dedicate to nastiness, they should donate that energy to chronically ill folks cause we’re TIRED.

WE know how effective masking is, but anti-maskers are either maliciously ignorant or brainwashed. Or just downright malicious: see all the people now being harassed and assaulted just for mask-wearing.

Cognitive dissonance as dangerous as a plague.

Anyone who demands politeness in the face of oppression is a tool for the oppressors.

… and also, in what world was Charlie Kirk civil or polite? I don’t think we are using the same dictionary.

13.09.2025 21:36 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, I do remember what it was like before 2020. Back then people mostly respected and kept their distance because I was masking. Now people purposely cough and spit on me.

We should be able to expect people to care for each other. If you find that unrealistic that says a lot about you.

The response to Charlie Kirk's death is proving to be a good litmus for liberalism (and how it supports the regime) vs. actual leftism.

The only sympathy I have is for his young children... I hope they are able to grow up in a world that is NOTHING like the one their father dreamed of.

We knew this was coming years ago. Armed minorities are harder to oppress.

Absolutely everyone should be scared by this potential move because it has implications beyond even gun ownership.

Ask yourself β€œwhat qualifies and who decides?” Every time policy questions like this arise.

Image depicts a photograph of a brown tabby cat yawning widely with eyes closed, showing teeth and the inside of the mouth due to the impressive gape. The long white whiskers extend toward the camera. Overlaid over the image (over the open mouth, surrounded by teeth) in a white text box is the text:

β€œThe liberal is so preoccupied with stopping confrontation that he usually finds himself defending and calling for law and order, the law and order of the oppressor. Confrontation would disrupt the smooth functioning of the society and so the politics of the liberal leads him into a position where he finds himself politically aligned with the oppressor rather than with the oppressed.”

From Wikipedia: Kwame Ture was a Trinbagonian-American activist who played a major role in the civil rights movement in the United States and the global pan-African movement. Born in Trinidad in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, he grew up in the United States from age 11 and became an activist while attending the Bronx High School of Science. Ture was a key leader in the development of the Black Power movement, first while leading the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, then as the "Honorary Prime Minister" of the Black Panther Party and as a leader of the All-African People's Revolutionary Party.

The cat photo is of the creator's (@ResilienceBeast) beloved deceased cat, Jovian. Jovian was anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian, and punk AF. RIP.
