You may notice that the individual letters are in rectangles in the header graphic. That is because I also plan to make a font based on the the "PRiDE" part of the sign as well, so I am saving the lozenge-shape for that version πŸ˜‰

Cleaners: A Chicago-inspired Font β€” The Chicago Neighborhoods CLEANERS is a font that inspired by the Pride Cleaners sign in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood.

Font 21: CLEANERS is inspired by the Pride Cleaners sign in the Chatham neighborhood in Chicago. It was recently announced that Pride Cleaners would be closing, but hopefully the amazing sign and iconic building will be saved 🀞🀞🀞

Linocut print featuring three Chicago bungalows.

The middle and right two flats are similar in appearance with square front bay windows and a ground level entrance. Despite the overall similar style there are many minor differences between the two, including castellated brickwork on the middle one.

Good memory! He made a paper cut illustration of my wife and I based on a picture that was taken of us at the show we met at in Oakland.

Whoa, holy crap, I love the Matches. Did we discuss this before? I've seen them so many times, and I have my fingers crossed for another anniversary show sometime soon (been to all but one of'em). I wasn't at that 2006 show though since I lived in Oregon with a woman that I met...at a Matches show.

I'm procrastinating HARD this morning, so...here's All Saints Episcopal Church, the oldest oldest wood-frame church in the city. I get all googly-eyed every time I find myself at the corner of Wilson and Hermitage in Ravenswood.

Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the greatest Americans to ever live. Here is art I recently made for @6figga-dilla.bsky.social of the iconic photo of Dr. King shooting pool on the West Side of Chicago in 1966, created in the style that Dr. Margaret Burroughs used in her art.

Today's snow made me remember this winter scene that I illustrated for UChicago's Martin Marty Center near the end of last year.
